My philosophy of life.

The following quote is the metaphysics I live by, and it is available to everyone. I find it to be a really practical way of life that opens all kinds of amazing doors each day — enabling me to grow spiritually by reflecting my Source and then, hopefully, to bring healing and blessings to others. This is my true purpose in life. The photographic art is simply a natural and blessed by-product of it all.

"We run into error when we divide Soul into souls, multiply Mind into minds and suppose error to be mind, then mind to be in matter and matter to be a lawgiver, unintelligence to act like intelligence, and mortality to be the matrix of immortality."

Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures
— Mary Baker Eddy

Some thoughts about my work.

I am a photographic artist because it is one of the most significant ways I can artistically preserve and share with others the glory and beauty of man and the universe. Beyond the necessities of learning the technical side of photography and digital darkroom techniques to image the photographic art onto canvas, the all-important aspects of intuitiveness, receptivity, watching, listening, reflecting, and caring must first be cultivated and nurtured in order to see that all-important-moment through the lens and embrace it.

When I see a sunrise or sunset, a bird soaring, leaves unfurling, sunshine dappling over a brook, flowers in all their full-bloomed beauty, a vast ocean, blue sky with cumulus clouds, giant mountains, trees, a beautiful smile, the innocence of a sleeping child, a kitten curled up in a ray of light, an older couple holding hands . . . I begin to appreciate what these all signify . . . the promise of perfection . . . of life beyond our limited view of it at this moment . . . and the present beauty and comfort of life's elegant simplicity . . . if we would but open our eyes (thought) and see (understand).

I feel blessed and honored to share what I have to offer with others, and look forward to doing so with you — whether it is a commission to create a portrait or a web site for you; or if you are inspired to purchase some artwork from The 2009 'Limited Edition' Collections in our online gallery; or if you would something original created just for you. I am happy to be at your service.

Sincerely,
normajean
